Halal certification
What is Halal certification?
Certification that a product contains no ingredients or processing aids forbidden under Islamic law — most commonly ethanol and animal derivatives — and that manufacturing avoids cross-contamination. It is a practical requirement for mainstream retail in Malaysia and Indonesia and a strong differentiator in the Gulf. Recognised bodies include JAKIM, MUI and, in Korea, KMF.
