Challenge test (PET)

What is Challenge test?

A preservative efficacy test, usually to ISO 11930, in which the product is deliberately inoculated with microorganisms and monitored. It forms part of the EU safety dossier and is the only real proof that a preservative system works in the actual finished product and its actual pack.
