What is Efficacy test?

Instrumental or consumer-panel testing that substantiates a performance claim — improved hydration by corneometer, reduced wrinkle depth by imaging, barrier recovery by TEWL. Required for Korean functional cosmetics, required and publicly summarised for Chinese efficacy claims, and increasingly demanded by EU retailers before listing.
