What is Exclusive distribution?

A contract granting one buyer the sole right to sell a brand in a defined territory and channel. Korean brands usually tie exclusivity to annual minimum purchase volumes and a fixed term, and grant it by country rather than by region. Expect the first term to be short — twelve to twenty-four months — with renewal conditional on hitting volume.
