MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)

What is MOQ?

The smallest quantity a supplier will produce or ship in a single order. It is set per SKU, not per order — five shades of one lipstick are five MOQs, which is why a wide first assortment costs far more than buyers expect.

Why does MOQ matter when sourcing Korean cosmetics?

Korean manufacturers quote MOQ in units for finished goods and in kilograms for bulk. An ODM product built on a stock formula and stock packaging carries a much lower MOQ than an OEM product, because nothing has to be developed for you. A high MOQ is often negotiable on a first order if you accept a longer lead time, stock packaging, or a commitment for the follow-up quantity.
