PIF (Product Information File)
What is PIF?
The dossier the EU Responsible Person must hold and keep available to authorities for ten years after the last batch was placed on the market. It contains the formula, the safety assessment, the manufacturing method and GMP evidence, and the substantiation for every claim made on pack.
Why does PIF matter when sourcing Korean cosmetics?
Preparing a PIF usually takes longer than the notification itself, and an incomplete one is the most common finding in a market-surveillance inspection.
