What is Responsible Person?

The legal entity established in the market that carries regulatory responsibility for a cosmetic product. The EU and the UK each require their own; the US uses a comparable "responsible person" concept under MoCRA, and China requires a domestic responsible person for registration and filing.

Why does Responsible Person matter when sourcing Korean cosmetics?

A Korean exporter cannot be the EU RP. The importer, the distributor, or a contracted RP service must take the role — and whoever holds it effectively controls the market entry, so decide this before you sign a distribution agreement.
